Lanzarote Villas

The words ‘Lanzarote villas’ conjures up an image of a leisurely lifestyle in luxurious accommodation, with a pool and outside areas organised for sunbathing and al fresco dining. It’s an image that needs one final element to make it work – sunshine. So it is hardly surprising that the Canary Islands, including Lanzarote, offer a wide range of villa holiday accommodation, which can be an extremely attractive alternative to both hotel accommodation and self- catering apartments.

The expression ‘Lanzarote Villas’ covers a wide range of mainly self catering properties, often having in common one or more of features such as

  • detached – designed for privacy
  • sea views
  • well maintained gardens and terraces
  • al fresco dining facilities
  • good sized, well furnished and decorated living and dining areas
  • several bedrooms
  • a high ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms
  • quieter, off resort centre location

Lanzarote Villas at the top end of the market like Luxury Villas Lanzarote can be extremely large properties, inside and out, with richly decorated and furnished accommodation, state of the art kitchens and their own private swimming pools, in landscaped gardens providing panoramic views out over the Atlantic. They are often located a little way inland from the coast but still only ten to fifteen minutes from the nearest beach by road, so getting around is no problem with a hire car.

The smallest villas typically provide accommodation in as little as one bedroom, in complexes with a communal pool. This kind of accommodation is also known as Apartments in Lanzarote.

Lanzarote Villas locations

Most Lanzarote Villas for rent are situated in or just outside of the main resorts, located along the south eastern coastline and the southern tip of the island. In the island’s most popular holiday destination, Puerto Del Carmen, the majority of villas for rent are found at the quieter end of the main street, in the Las Pocillos and Matagorda areas, as well as in the Los Mojones district behind the harbour and old town.

Playa Blanca also has a large amount of villa accommodation, and there are a number of other villas for rent all around the island – on the coast, in the relatively ‘new town’ of Puerto Calero, with its harbour full of smart sporting and recreational vessels; in the ex pat capital of Tias and in small, rural towns in locations such as Nazaret, Guime, Yaiza, Haria, Macher and La Asomada.

Lanzarote Villas rental costs vary according to factors such as size, location and distance from amenities. Prices range from a few hundred Euros per week to two thousand or so, which sounds like a lot of money but if divided between, say, a group of ten or more, amounts to only two hundred Euros per week.
